International collaboration
Main objectives:
- Nikiforov Russian Center of Emergency and Radiation Medicine of EMERCOM of Russia is the official World Health Organization Collaborating Center within the framework of REMPAN system for radiation emergency, medical preparedness and assistance network/ as well as the rehabilitation of the victims of search and rescue operations staff in nuclear and other accidents.
- The Center is the national and regional focal point within the REMPAN network.
- Collection and exchange of data on medical preparedness to radiological accidents, including telemedicine technologies.
- Participation and organization of yearly international meetings and symposia as a part of collaboration with a number of international research and clinical institutions.
- Participation in the program ‘Overcoming the consequences of radiation accidents for the period through 2010’ within the framework of agreement between Russia and Republic of Belarus for 2006-2010.
